A car reduced to ashes and three other cars damaged by the blaze. The inferno broke out in via Petronia , in Porto Torres , where the arsonists targeted a Mercedes Clc , recently purchased by a 52-year-old bricklayer who immediately reported the episode to the local carabinieri.

The car hit by flames suddenly exploded in the night creating terror among the residents. Shortly before 2 a sudden loud bang and then in sequence three others alarmed the entire neighborhood near the intersection with Via Satta .

The flames destroyed the Mercedes and damaged three other cars parked nearby. The flames reached the ground floor windows, burned the shutters , the smoke-blackened facade, the doorbell device and shattered the glass of the entrance door.

The firefighters intervened on site but could do nothing to save the vehicle, but only limit the damage to the other cars and prevent the flames from reaching the upper floors of the building.

Terror and dismay in the eyes of the residents of the building where the owner resides.

"We were trapped at the entrance to the main door, the fire prevented us from getting out , the smoke risked poisoning us, the air had become unbreathable and we feared that the building could burn down too," says one of the women residents. "An unexpected Christmas present that scared the six families in this building."

On the asphalt the traces of the fire, probably of malicious origin , that this morning the condominiums tried to clean up with difficulty. In the emergency also the carabinieri who investigate the incident.
