Moments of fear in the offices of the Italian Post Office in Porto Torres, in the headquarters in via Ettore Sacchi.

Yesterday afternoon, a gas leak from the air conditioning system risked poisoning employees and users, the latter queuing in front of the counters waiting for their turn. They suffered sickness, burning eyes and throat discomfort, a beginning of intoxication which forced the Italian Post Office to close their premises.

The toxic gas leaked from the air conditioners following a fault in one of the systems. The entire building was evacuated by the fire brigade teams of the Porto Torres detachment, who were the first to intervene on site, followed by the specialized Nbcr teams, the biological-chemical-radiological nucleus of the provincial command of Sassari, which detected, with special tools, a gas leak and arranged cleanup.

The firefighters have posted an order at the entrance for the temporary closure of the offices, waiting to complete the investigations and complete rehabilitation of the premises. A disservice for many customers who went to the office in via Ettore Sacchi this morning.
