One hundred years of love for the sea: Luigi Occhineri celebrates a century of life in Porto Torres with the joy and embraces of the family and the deputy mayor Simona Fois.
Born in 1922, Gino, as many know him, was born in Campi Salentina, in the province of Lecce, but in 1954 he decided to move to Platamona , on the Turrian coast, where he built most of the seaside huts for bathing holidays: a profession carried out with such passion that it earned the nickname "Mayor of Platamona".
In his memories the images of the Second World War in which he participated as a fighter. Then the activity of videoreporter, with the choice of Sardinia as the ideal place for his filming. A love at first sight that led him to move to the island. A new reality, a new path of life and love.
He met his wife Emma Vannucci, with whom he had a son, Roberto. He undertook new activities between the Fish Factory, where he was hired as manager, and the Sarda Laterizi, in the industrial area of Porto Torres.
In all these years he has never left the village of Platamona, where he has always lived with his family.
