The entire town of Poggio dei Pini rallied around Dario Paolo Garau's family. The Church of Our Lady of Lourdes filled with family and many friends to pay their last respects to the young man who died Sunday evening in a car accident on State Road 195 while returning from a day at the beach. He also celebrated his 20th birthday the following day.
Also present was Beniamino Garau, mayor of Capoterra.
As the coffin emerged from the church, after a moving homily by parish priest Monsignor Giovanni Sanna, the silence was broken by the roar of engines: led by his twin brother Diego, Dario's motorcyclist friends started up their bikes and bid farewell to their lifelong friend.
