Poetto, caretta caretta rescued by the military at the Lido del Carabiniere

An injured and disoriented loggerhead turtle was rescued this afternoon in the waters of the Lido del Carabiniere, in Poetto.

The military immediately noticed the situation and promptly took the animal into custody, placing it in a safe condition to avoid further sources of stress or potential danger.

Immediately afterwards, the Carabinieri contacted the emergency number, reporting the incident and activating the specialist assistance network.

The competent service has arranged for specialized personnel to be immediately dispatched to the site. They will assess the animal's condition and assess its transfer to a specially equipped treatment center, where the turtle can receive the necessary veterinary care to promote its subsequent recovery and final reintegration into its natural habitat.
