Pnrr: Gdf discovers crimes worth 20 million in Sardinia, almost 300 tax evaders found in total
On the day of the celebrations for the 250th anniversary of its foundation, the regional commander takes stock of a year of activity

A total of 295 tax evaders and 395 irregular workers were found, over 2,400 investigations to combat economic-financial crimes and violations of 20 million on contributions relating to the Pnrr . And again, 57 people reported for embezzlement and crimes against the PA for a total value of 25 million euros.
The Guardia di Finanza of Sardinia in the square of the Basilica of Bonaria in Cagliari celebrates the 250th anniversary of its birth and takes stock of a year of activity.
Present alongside the regional commander of the Fiamme Gialle, General Claudio Bolognese , the mayor of Cagliari Massimo Zedda, representatives of the Region, prefect and police commissioners from the whole island.
«In 2023 and in the first five months of 2024, 26 thousand inspections were carried out in the region to combat economic-financial crimes, identifying 295 total tax evaders, reporting more than 200 crimes for tax evasion and fraud with related seizures of assets for a value of 100 million euros", General Bolognese recalled in his speech.
The activity carried out on the Pnrr funds: «On this issue, the collaboration with the Province of Southern Sardinia was significant, which allowed the granting of 1.7 million to be promptly blocked following the presentation of false guarantee policies. In terms of the allocated community resources - added the commander of the Gdf - contributions unduly received amounting to over 10 million have been identified while those relating to national funding, social security and welfare spending amount to 40 million".
On the subject of public spending , 698 investigations were carried out which led to the reporting of 487 people ; 193 perpetrators were reported to the Court of Auditors, resulting in tax damages amounting to over 200 million.
The asset freezing activity also continues following the war in Ukraine: " From the beginning of the conflict to today, assets worth 750 million have been seized on the island ."
Bankruptcy crimes: assets worth 7.6 million seized and 129 people reported. Controls on Made in Italy products: 500 thousand liters of wine and 57 tons of cheese seized . Finally, the drug activity which led to the seizure of 8.8 tons of marijuana and 20 kilos of cocaine .
