Anna Minieri, 53, together with her 16-year-old daughter, are the victims of the accident caused by a pirated car in Porto Torres. The impact yesterday evening, Monday 17 July, around 19.40. A small car comes up from the Acque Dolci coast, comes out from the lower part of via Benedetto Croce, does not respect the stop sign and, at the intersection with via Balai, overwhelms the mother and daughter on a scooter.

Then he pushes on the accelerator and runs away without even bothering to help. The driver of the car, after being called back by one of the passers-by, decides to turn around, reaches the scene of the accident, glances at the two injured people on the ground and flees in the direction of the Lungomare. Mother and daughter rescued by some residents were transported with the 118 Avis ambulance to the Santissima Annunziata civil hospital in Sassari. They suffered some grazes on their legs and arms.

«But it could have been worse – adds Anna Minieri – because we were dragged with the motorbike for two meters. I only hope that these people, most likely tourists, will be tracked down and identified." The carabinieri of the Porto Torres company who intervened on the spot are trying to identify the pirate car through the testimonies and images of the cameras along the escape routes. The driver risks having his license withdrawn and the vehicle confiscated for wrongful death.
