The ritual pastries, the applause, and the affection that has always accompanied him. Vittorio Spanu celebrated his 106th birthday at the Letizia nursing home in Perdasdefogu , where he has lived for some time.

Grandpa has 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. He has worked in the fields all his life , and tending the garden has always been one of his passions, along with playing cards.

A few years ago, Uncle Vittorio, along with eight other fellow villagers, was among the protagonists of a Guinness World Record . Perdasdefogu had become the town with the highest concentration of centenarians in the world.
