The great journey of Alessandro Mucci and Stefano La Mastra will end tomorrow in Olbia, in the Sardinian leg of "Pedalando per la ricerca". The initiative aims to raise new funds for the Airc Foundation for cancer research . It began last Saturday, with six stages and over 1,100 kilometers by bike that in recent days have seen the two protagonists pass through Alghero, Oristano, Sant'Antioco, Tortolì and Cagliari , essentially traveling the entire perimeter of the island (with 11,000 meters of altitude difference). Joining Mucci and La Mastra on the Sardinian roads are also the Pink Flamingos, a group of island cyclists who have been active in favor of cancer research for years .

The project. "Pedalando per la ricerca" was born in January 2020, based on an idea by Mucci, to raise awareness of the importance of oncology research and to raise funds for researchers at Airc, a foundation that has three active research projects in Sardinia (total investment of 273,000 euros) and whose Committee has been active since 1991 with Pietro Biggio as president . In almost five years of activity, over 50,000 euros have been raised and, through the Rete del Dono website, it is possible to make a donation by giving your contribution. Before arriving in Sardinia, Mucci and La Mastra crossed Central Italy and the western Alpine arc, after having already done a long bike ride from Barcelona to Genoa.
