Stays are getting longer, although there has been a slight decline in terms of attendance, tourists are spending more. The Palau tourist destination is consolidated.
This is what emerged from the public meeting organized by the Municipality last Friday to examine the data from the past season. After the greeting from councilor Fabrizio Aisoni, the illustration of the data, collected with the Wind 3 Business system, was entrusted, with the projection of slides, to the Tourism delegate, Luisa Pasella.
From 30 April to 31 October 2023, domestic tourist overnight stays increased by 20%, foreign ones by 14%. As regards daily visits, in the same period the decline was 2%. We are talking about 510,088 visitors (1,655,475 daily visits), 62% represented by national tourists, 26% by foreigners, approximately 8% provincial tourists and the remaining regional ones.
As for foreigners, this year the Germans have overtaken the French into first place, the Spanish into third place, the English into fourth, followed closely by the Poles and then the Dutch.
Slight decline in revenue from the tourist tax (the data of which were presented by the lawyer Mauro Delogu who also illustrated the tariff changes for the year 2024), which stood this year at 999,999 euros against 1,173,998 in the 2022.
In 2019, before the pandemic, revenue amounted to 1,261,965 euros.
