Busy afternoon on via Cagliari in Oristano, on the stretch towards Santa Giusta. A driver from Cabras, driving a Fiat Punto, hit a pedestrian who was crossing on the crosswalk. After the rather violent impact, while the injured person remained on the ground in pain, the small car continued on its way. The driver, in the car with a friend, did not stop to provide assistance and instead accelerated further, quickly moving away from the scene of the accident.

But he didn't go far because during the escape, the driver of the Fiat Punto crashed into a truck . At that point the two were stopped by local police officers, the friend who was traveling on board the small car was injured and was taken to the hospital. The pedestrian who had been hit shortly before also ended up in the emergency room: the 118 rescuers, after first aid on the spot, took him with a yellow code to the San Martino emergency room.

The driver of the small car was reported for failure to provide assistance, but further investigations are underway and the incredible story could have further developments.
