Difficult hours at the port, the protesters continue with the garrison to try to block the transport of the shovelsA wall of police officers and carabinieri in riot gear, with helmets and shields, protected the passage of the tower of one of the gigantic wind turbines which have been stored, dismantled, at the port of Oristano since the end of April.
The video was recorded after long hours of tension : a group of protesters, who have been guarding the gate for days, blocked the exit of the airport, to try to stop the movement of what they consider to be steel monsters to be stuck in the ground to disfigure the Sardinian landscape.
Towers, rotors and blades are used to upgrade existing wind farms - one in Villacidro - with the replacement of small turbines with much larger ones that arrived three months ago. A disfigurement for the protesters, who for hours put up passive resistance, sitting on the asphalt in front of the heavy vehicle.
Law enforcement and demonstrators even came to physical confrontation (but no charges were recorded). The tension abated only by the police commissioner of Oristano Giuseppe Giardina and by the head of the Mobile Samuele Cabizzosu. A new garrison has been announced for this evening.
