Cars and spare parts to buy online, pay the deposit and the sellers disappear.

Two people living in Milan and Porto Torres have been reported for two scams committed against a 51-year-old from Triei and a 31-year-old from Villagrande Strisaili.

The investigations were carried out by the Carabinieri of the Baunei and Villagrande Strisaili Stations, to whom the two victims turned.

The 51-year-old, interested in purchasing a car listed on “subito.it”, paid a deposit of 800 euros without ever receiving the vehicle. The 31-year-old, on the other hand, was contacted on Messenger and WhatsApp and convinced to pay 150 euros to purchase spare parts for his car. In this case, the seller, a 36-year-old from Porto Torres, also set up a meeting to finalize the purchase and showed up: but he informed the buyer that he had personal problems, asking for a further loan of 130 euros. Money that he did not receive, in fact, the 31-year-old provided his IBAN asking for the return of the money already paid. The return, as expected, never occurred.

The Carabinieri, through checks on telephone numbers and bank records, managed to trace the current accounts into which the sums of money had flowed and therefore the two scammers.
