Tragic accident today in Oliena, in the Logheri area on the old road to Orgosolo, where a firefighter stationed in Olbia, off duty, was the victim of an accident at work while he was on his family's land.

According to initial reconstructions, Giancarlo Piga, 41 years old, off duty, for reasons yet to be ascertained, remained trapped under the tractor he was driving.

The accident occurred around 4:00 p.m. The police were immediately alerted, as were the man's colleagues, who promptly intervened on the spot. Together they implemented all the rescue procedures. The intervention of the air ambulance was also requested, but there was nothing that could be done for him.
