The investigations into the death of the worker Baskim Bitichi , which occurred last Saturday on a construction site in Olbia, are bringing to light new, serious circumstances on which the Spresal inspectors of the local health authority and the Carabinieri are working.
The 43-year-old man entered the construction site and climbed onto the scaffolding, from which he then fell, despite having a double spinal injury and wearing a brace. The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has ordered careful investigations into what happened in the last days of Baskim Bitichi's life. He had been involved in a car accident, which is why he was out sick. Investigations are underway to verify not only whether the Kosovar worker was working in the building in via Londra on the afternoon of Saturday 24 February, but whether he had also worked on another construction site in the previous days.
Some people, all workers, witnesses of the tragedy, declared that Baskim Bitichi had entered the construction site to meet them, a reconstruction of the facts that does not seem to have convinced the judicial police. In any case, the Spresal inspectors have inflicted the first heavy sanctions, we are talking about fines for tens of thousands of euros, on those responsible for the construction site.
