The Carabinieri of Olbia have identified and arrested the perpetrator of some thefts committed last November: he is a 23-year-old, already known to the police, for whom the doors of the Sassari prison of Bancali have now opened.

There are at least two incidents of which he is suspected: on November 5th, in broad daylight, the young man allegedly entered a restaurant in the centre, climbing over a low wall and furtively entering the premises from a

door located on the back and, once inside, he allegedly stole a wallet containing personal documents and a debit card.

The 23-year-old wasted no time and, having reached the first ATM he found, immediately withdrew 200 euros.

A few days later, the same young man allegedly committed another theft: while a waste disposal worker was busy with his shift in the square in front of the Basilica of San Simplicio, the 23-year-old quickly sneaked into the service vehicle, stealing his wallet, containing over 1000 euros in cash.

After the reports, the military of the Olbia Centro Station started the investigations and thanks to the video surveillance images they managed to trace the person responsible.

The Tempio Pausania Prosecutor has therefore requested a precautionary measure of prison custody against the 23-year-old.
