Armed with scissors, he attacked two people and then killed a dog. It happened this afternoon in Olbia , where a man of Tunisian origin was stopped and arrested red-handed for attempted murder by the Carabinieri of the local Radiomobile unit, assisted by their colleagues from Porto Rotondo.

The attacker, who turned out to be an asylum seeker, entered a Chinese massage parlor and, armed with scissors, stabbed a 39-year-old woman in the neck. The woman's condition is not serious, and after medical checks, she was released from the emergency room of the Giovanni Paolo II Hospital in Olbia. The man's wild afternoon then continued in Olbia's central square , where, still wielding scissors, he stabbed a 45-year-old security guard on duty in the forecourt of a supermarket in the back and then fatally stabbed the dog of a customer sitting at a table in a bar overlooking the square.

Transported to the emergency room of the city hospital with critical injuries, the security guard suffered serious injuries and will remain in the facility for further evaluation. Following numerous calls to 112 from passersby, the Mobile Radio Unit and the Porto Rotondo Police Station intervened, apprehending and securing the man. The motive for the attacks is still unclear.
