There are two health workers under investigation for the death of Salvatore Careddu, which occurred in the hospital of Olbia on September 16th . The Tempio Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the death of the patient (66 years old, from San Teodoro), which, according to a complaint filed by the family, occurred after the transfusion of blood components not compatible with the blood group of the victim . There is talk of an incorrect label on a test tube , an alleged error that, according to the hypothesis being examined by the Tempio prosecutors, caused Salvatore Careddu to end up in intensive care.

Unfortunately, there was nothing that could be done for the patient. The Gallura Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation for manslaughter . By order of the prosecutor Milena Aucone, an autopsy was performed on the man's body, entrusted to the coroner Salvatore Lorenzoni and the results of the investigation are awaited. Careddu's funeral was held yesterday, the family expects a thorough investigation into the facts.

The Carabinieri have already collected important information on the matter. Careddu, seriously ill, went to the Olbia emergency room on September 12, accompanied by his family. There was immediate talk of the need to amputate a foot. But the situation quickly worsened and a transfusion became necessary . According to Salvatore Careddu's family, an error had occurred in indicating the patient's blood group. According to rumors, Careddu's relatives were contacted by the health management of the Giovanni Paolo II hospital in Olbia, who confirmed the problem . Lawyer Alessandro Scaccia, the lawyer for the family of the victim of the alleged medical malpractice, declared: "We are certain that the Tempio Prosecutor's Office will conduct in-depth investigations into the actions of the health workers, in order to establish the causes of death and the individual responsibilities for this event, which affected the entire community of San Teodoro."
