Not only a work necessary to increase the level of safety but also beautiful and functional. Having been entrusted with the design task for the demolition and reconstruction, the road bridge over the Rio San Nicola, in via Gabriele D'Annunzio in Olbia, from an incongruous work becomes a work of embellishment of the urban context.
Finished in the collection of buildings to be eliminated for having been an obstacle to the regular outflow of flood waters during the floods of 2013 and 2015, the plug-bridge in via D'Annunzio will be a wide road with an adjoining cycle/pedestrian path and usable green spaces . "We have reached an important phase that will lead us to the demolition of yet another incongruous work that prevents the normal flow of water towards the sea", comments the councilor for urban planning, Bastianino Monni. «The new work will have such heights and a franc that they will allow the waters of the Rio San Nicola, especially in the rainy season when the surrounding watercourses swell it, to reach the sea in complete safety, without flooding and without causing problems to the city», explains Monni. And he concludes: "We give security to the city but without neglecting the architectural aesthetic aspect: the renderings provided by the company give an idea of how security and beauty can be combined perfectly".
Within 120 days, the preliminary project, which cost 85,000 euros and which can also be extended to the nearby bridge over the Zozò canal, will become definitive and executive and, in the meantime, authorizations will be requested from the civil engineering and the Region in order to deliver the finished work. of the scope of 2 million and 400 thousand euros.
