Yacht seized in a joint operation by the Finance Police of the Provincial Command and the Officials of the Customs and Monopolies Agency of Sassari.

From the investigations conducted by the Guardia di Finanza Group and the ADM Territorial Operations Section of Olbia, it emerged that the yacht, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, stored in a shipyard in the industrial area, had been stationed continuously in European Union waters for over 18 months, the maximum limit of temporary admission for maritime transport flying non-EU flags exempt from border customs duties.

The vessel, worth one and a half million euros, was seized and the owner of the yacht, a British citizen, was reported on charges of aggravated smuggling for having introduced the "foreign" vessel without fulfilling the obligation of the customs declaration , as required by the National Provisions Complementary to the Customs Code of the Union, evading border customs duties and VAT for over 330 thousand euros.
