Nuoro, the house goes up in flames: disabled man is trapped and dies of poisoning

Sergio Nardelli, a 49-year-old disabled person, lost his life this evening in Nuoro in a fire at his home.

Once the alarm was raised, the 1A team of the Provincial Command of the Nuoro Fire Brigade intervened in the area with a tanker still busy as of 5.15pm, due to the fire that broke out in Via Urbino.

The fire, which started due to accidental causes from a fireplace in the basement of a detached house, reached a sofa which fueled the spread of the fire, releasing a large quantity of smoke.

Inside Nardelli, who unfortunately died probably due to inhalations.

Attempts by 118 personnel to resuscitate him were in vain. The flames were quickly extinguished, limiting the damage.

The guard officer of the head office was also present on site.
