Fifteen motorists checked over the weekend, nine positive for the alcohol test.

This is the balance of the checkpoints organized by the Nuoro traffic police , in collaboration with the agents of the Lanusei, Siniscola and Bitti detachments, to prevent the so-called "Saturday night massacres" and guarantee the safety of road users.

The verification services were conducted in Tortolì, on State Road 125 and in Budoni.

"During the activities - reports Leo Testa , commander of the Nuoro road - 15 drivers were checked, 9 of whom tested positive for the breathalyzer test, aged between 21 and 34, one of whom even had a higher rate to 1.42 grams/litre . Among these also a novice driver and a 21-year-old girl ».

«The finding was worrying – underlined by the Stradale –: 60% of the drivers checked were found to be in a state of alcoholic intoxication».

During the checks, three other infringements of the Highway Code were also contested and a total of 120 points deducted from driving licenses.
