An insurance salesman from Nuoro has been placed under house arrest on charges of aggravated fraud, extortion and impersonation . The man, who worked in the insurance sector, had managed to gain the trust of several victims thanks to his profession, but subsequently exploited this position to commit a series of fraudulent crimes.

The investigation, conducted by the Guardia di Finanza of Nuoro and coordinated by public prosecutors Selene Desole and Sandra Maria Benedetta Picicuto, brought to light numerous scams, with economic damage amounting to tens of thousands of euros .

The victims, deceived by the apparent seriousness and competence of the insurer, found themselves being exploited and defrauded into obtaining large sums of money. Last Tuesday, the man was arrested in execution of a precautionary order issued by the judge for preliminary investigations of the Court of Nuoro. The precautionary measure was triggered following the clear evidence collected by the police during the investigation, which highlighted the involvement of the insurer in illegal activities.

The charges against him include not only fraud, but also extortion and impersonation, whereby the man allegedly committed fraudulent acts by pretending to be someone else to further deceive his victims . The investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are convinced that other people may have been defrauded.
