Nuoro: Cheikh, the last of the honest ones

Cheikh Serigne Mbengue, who will be 33 next September, has been working in Nuoro as a street vendor since 2009. And it has an increasingly rare virtue: honesty.
Two years ago, he had become famous because he had found a wallet with 500 euros inside: he had taken everything to the police station. The police had tracked down the owner and returned the money. And told his story, because that of the Senegalese is a gesture by no means obvious, even less because he repeated it.
Thursday evening he found another wallet, this time in viale Repubblica. Inside 50 euros, an identity card and ATM card. He didn't think twice and damned himself to find the owner.
He quit his job, worth 30 euros a day, and with his backpack on his back he arrived in a street in the San Paolo district.
