Fire alarm around 1pm in the Preda Istrada neighborhood of Nuoro.
In the early afternoon, a large fire between via Lollove and via Priamo Gallisai threatened the houses, even managing to graze the area of Sa 'e Manca and the cemetery's boundary wall. The immediate intervention of two helicopters from the Farcana and Anela Forestry Corps, the municipal police, the Fire Brigade teams, the Forestas agency and the Civil Protection who put out the fire in a short time and avoided the worst for the houses.
The residents left their homes spontaneously and were immediately brought to safety by the Fire Brigade.
Mayor Emiliano Fenu, who went to the site, expressed his gratitude: "Thanks to the forces that intervened and with their diligent work they managed to avoid the worst", said the mayor who followed the operations with the Civil Protection room.
The teams are now working on the cleanup around the houses and the affected area , while the causes of the fire are still to be ascertained, but according to an initial reconstruction by the operators, the fire started from a lamppost in via Gallisai.
