A Christmas reflecting on the theme of road safety and the sad index of fatal accidents, which sees Sardinia at the top of the national rankings for 2023.

As many as 111 deaths on the Island were remembered in the last few hours in Piazza Satta , with white carnations framing giant photographs that relaunch the sad regional record, with an appeal to the institutions.

The initiative was promoted by volunteers from the AdessoBasta association , who have been working for years to relaunch the issue of road safety: they remembered the brothers Matteo and Francesco Pintor, who passed away in December 2017 on the Ss 129 Nuoro-Macomer.

"This year - says Giovanni Pintor, president of Adesso Basta - we didn't have the opportunity to organize the traditional end-of-year concert, stopping to start again with more enthusiasm next year. So we thought of an initiative that would shake consciences and make everyone reflect on the topic of road safety".

Pintor adds: «The choice to hold the flash mob in Piazza Satta is certainly not accidental. It is one of the symbols of our city where Nivola's works find space, a symbol of that youth that we must safeguard and protect, keeping awareness high. We thank the florist Idini for having donated the flowers to us».
