The Cagliari city council returns to deal with the new stadium . The councilor of the Mixed Group Giuseppe Farris questioned the board on the state of the art of the process that will lead to the construction of the facility in the last session.
Farris, in particular, asked for information following the statements of the president of CONI Giovanni Malagò , who during a visit to Cagliari had spoken of the new stadium in the Sardinian capital as one of the examples of the "difficulties" encountered in Italy when one intends to build new facilities , also taking into account the time that is passing towards the 2032 European Championships .
The Sports Councillor Giuseppe Macciotta , in response to the question, explained that the process is not at a standstill and that probably, he added, Malagò's was a "joke, to liven up his visit to Cagliari".
Macciotta then confirmed his willingness to continue the process started under the previous administration "in the name of rigor, parsimony and prudence" , with the commitment to inform the assembly of all the steps forward that will be taken.
On Wednesday morning – Macciotta also announced – the new administration will meet with the club's management to get all the updates on the "inherited" project and on everything regarding both the financial and "competitive" feasibility in view of Euro 2032.
