Traffic paralyzed this morning between Cagliari and Tortolì due to an accident along the old 125, about three hundred meters from the junction for Torre Salinas.

The cause was two cars traveling in the direction of Cagliari, both in the overtaking lane: the second one entered the lane without noticing the first one that was coming at a certain speed. One of the two first overturned and then they ended up, one on top of the other, in the ditch.

Luckily, there were no serious consequences for the drivers. An ambulance, the Muravera Carabinieri and the San Vito firefighters arrived immediately on the scene.

But motorists were stuck for almost an hour. The accident highlighted, once again, the inadequacy of the old eastern route, a mandatory route since the S'Arexini tunnel was closed on the new 125.

In addition to the holes and the farms, you can't even see the horizontal road markings : in the center of the asphalt in that stretch there should be, in fact, a continuous line, therefore with a no-overtaking sign, now erased by time and bad weather.
