Sudden mourning in the Oristano healthcare system: during the night, struck down by an illness, the doctor Antonello Gallus died at the age of 60.

Originally from Borore, he graduated in Medicine and Surgery at the University of Sassari and obtained a specialization in radiodiagnostics and diagnostic imaging at the Turritano Institute of Radiological Sciences.

Previously working at the Zonchello hospital in Nuoro, since 2001 he had been working at the ASL 5 in Oristano, where he had held the position of high professional in clinical mammography and was currently responsible for territorial radiology at the San Martino hospital and regional referent for mammographic screening.

For several years he had also been a volunteer for the Lilt section of Oristano , of which he was vice-president and scientific director.

"The management of the Local Health Authority No. 5 of Oristano", reads a note, "joins the grief of the family of Dr. Antonello Gallus, director of the Simple Departmental Structure of Territorial Radiology, for the premature passing of their relative. With him, our company loses not only an excellent professional, who was at the side of so many patients in the diagnosis and prevention of tumors and other pathologies, but also and above all a person of extraordinary humanity, who always knew how to welcome those patients with a smile on his lips, accompany them with dedication in the treatment path and encourage them in facing therapies. Sure that his colleagues will be able to continue in the wake of the precious path he traced, we remain with the esteem and gratitude for the enormous work accomplished by Dr. Antonello Gallus for our company, but above all for his beloved patients".
