Too much blood on the asphalt : in the last three years, 72 people have died on the roads of Southern Sardinia (16 in 2022, 28 in '23 and as many in '24, and the data does not include the Metropolitan City of Cagliari). Among the victims, 19 were motorcyclists : 4 in '22, 5 in '23, 10 last year.

For those who travel on two wheels, what is often fatal is what should be a protection device: the guardrail. The support posts left uncovered by the lower part of the barrier inflict even fatal mutilations on falling motorcyclists.

After every tragedy, for years, the Association of Motorcyclists Innocuous raises the issue , but the appeal to replace the old-fashioned guardrails with safer models, in which the lower part is also covered, has so far remained a dead letter. Or almost.
