Road billboards to prevent accidents involving cyclists have been placed in the area by the municipality of Sassari . The aim is to raise awareness on the issue of safety: «The initiative was proposed by councilor Lucio Carta, who has acted as spokesperson for various cycling sports associations, and aims to increase the levels of safety for cyclists when traveling on extra-urban roads. It represents a further contribution to the promotion of sustainable mobility in the city of Sassari» explains the Councilor for Mobility Infrastructures, Carlo Sardara.

The signs inform motorists of the possible and frequent presence of cyclists, as well as providing directions and recommendations. Among these is that of always maintaining the right safety distance from cyclists, equal to at least 1.5 metres.

For those traveling on two wheels, however, that of proceeding in single file.

The signs are located on the ex SS 127, after the roundabout with via Rizzi, towards Osilo, ex SS 127, after the roundabout with via Milano, towards Scala di Giocca; ex SS 200, after the roundabout with via Pirandello, direction Sorso; via Buddi Buddi, after the roundabout with via Pirandello, towards Platamona; ex SS 127bis, after the intersection with via Padre Luca, towards Usini; Strada Comunale Platamona, after the roundabout with the former SS 131, direction Platamona.

Other signs will be placed on the SP ex SS291 (ascent Monte Oro, La Landrigga and crossroads for Olmedo) and SP 18 (Bancali, Saccheddu, La Corte, Palmadula).
