Monsignor Saba is Military Ordinary: he leaves the archdiocese of Sassari

This was announced this morning at noon , in the Cathedral of San Nicola in Sassari, where civil and military authorities and faithful gathered to attend the farewell ceremony.
" I am sad to leave the Turritan church, but I am happy to take on the role that Pope Francis has assigned to me in this difficult moment in the world, marked by wars," he said.
Monsignor Saba will be the chaplain of the Italian military. Originally from Olbia, he was appointed archbishop of Sassari in 2017 .
