Night closure for the Emergency Department of the Segni hospital in Ozieri, until 16 January . The suspension of service is caused by the absence, for personal or health reasons, of three emergency doctors.

« From tonight at 8 pm the emergency room of the Segni hospital in Ozieri will be closed . For Epiphany night, thousands of citizens will therefore have to hope not to have any type of accident or to have perfect health care conditions because the serious shortage of personnel has also sealed yet another structure in the territory of Northern Sardinia. And if someone were to feel unwell at 20.15, how should they behave? », attacks the M5s regional councilor Desirè Manca.

“We are witnessing the death of the public health service. The night closure of an emergency room that serves such a vast territory is absolutely shameful and intolerable », he adds. «How does the Region intend to intervene to prevent the occurrence of serious episodes or real tragedies? Will an extraordinary and immediate helicopter rescue service be activated for the transport of patients to other centers in the area? Or will the patients be forced to go to the emergency room of the Santissima Annunziata hospital in Sassari already sufficiently crowded and in trouble throughout the year?

The mayor of Ozieri Marco Peralta learned from the Local Health Authority that « the return to normality will probably take place as early as next week, before the deadline set in today's note . We will continue to monitor and supervise on a daily basis, we immediately took action to ensure that the bodies in charge guarantee the restoration of the service as quickly as possible".
