Fire attack in Fonni: a farm destroyed

Fire last night in Fonni , in the localities of Janna and Ferru.

Teams of firefighters from the Provincial Command of Nuoro intervened for a large fire that involved three sheds of a farm, used as a barn, for sheltering livestock and as a tool room and custody of agricultural vehicles. T he owner is a 32-year-old Salvatore Mattu, an orphan who has shouldered the family business.

In the blaze, the structures suffered extensive damage and two tractors, hay and feed were destroyed . Fortunately no people were involved and all the animals inside were brought to safety.

The fire extinguishing, reclamation and safety operations engaged the fire brigade teams throughout the night.

The Carabinieri of the Pratobello and Orgosolo Stations also intervened on the spot and started the investigations to trace the perpetrators of the fact.
