Fear and a happy ending in the area of the former mining town of Masua, in the municipality of Iglesias, where yesterday afternoon a hunting dog got stuck on a rock face, unable to return.

The animal broke away from its owner during a hunting trip to chase a herd of goats until it reached the top of a steep wall.

Once he reached the top, however, he was unable to find a way down and remained trapped on the rock .

The owner himself raised the alarm, contacting the fire brigade's operations room.

The Cagliari Command immediately dispatched a rapid response team of SAF (Speleo Alpino Fluviali) specialists, trained to operate in difficult and high-risk environments.

The firefighters equipped the rock face with ropes and technical devices .

A complex maneuver, carried out with precision and skill, which allowed us to reach the animal, secure it, and transfer it to a safe area.

The dog, visibly frightened but in good health, was eventually returned to his owner, safe and sound.
