Alert on board the merchant ship Ulysse, flying the Tunisian flag, off the coast of Sant'Antioco.

A 52-year-old seafarer, of Tunisian nationality, complained of severe abdominal pain, probably due to appendicitis.

After the Cirm (International Medical Radio Center) ordered the transhipment, the Maritime District Office sent the Sar dependent unit about 8 miles from the port of Sant'Antioco.

The seafarer, once disembarked, was handed over to the medical staff of 118 and transported to the Sirai hospital in Carbonia for the necessary treatment.
