A young specimen of Carretta caretta was recovered this morning off the coast of Siniscola. Rescued by two sport fishermen who noticed its difficulty in diving, and alerted the Coast Guard of the Siniscola section, the animal was rescued by biologicals from the Marine Protected Area - Tavolara Punta Coda Cavallo.

The first visit did not find any wounds or bruises but the specimen had a swelling in the back, a symptom of a probable embolism, and was transferred to the Duemari veterinary clinic in Oristano, where he was hospitalized for further checks.

The operation carried out by the Amp is part of the activities of the regional network for the conservation of marine fauna.
