" The night Manuela disappeared, Astero and I went out for pizza with friends. Then, we took his car for a spin, just for fun. And the next day, since I worked at a gas station with a car wash, he asked if he could clean his car after a wild night out. So I did him the favor of opening the station even though it was Sunday . I told these things to the police at the police headquarters recently."
These are the words of Danilo Mascia, interviewed by Alessandro Sortino of Le Iene in the episode aired Sunday after midnight.
Thirty years later, the friend of the only suspect provides details on one of the most crucial elements in this phase of the investigation into the tragic death of Manuela Murgia, the sixteen-year-old found dead in the Tuvixeddu canyon on February 5, 1995: the car.
During the episode , Emanuele Dessì, the editor of L'Unione Sarda, who was one of the reporters covering Manuela Murgia's death at the time, was also interviewed. "I was in that canyon, and looking up, there were indeed several things that didn't add up. For a week, people were talking about murder, and so were the investigators. Then they said it was suicide."
