The only thing missing is the technical investigation on the only cell phone recovered, but for the rest the investigations by the Public Prosecutor's Office into the tragic death of Manola Mascia and Paolo Durzu, the engaged couple who lost their lives falling from a rocky cliff in Cala Fighera, are said to be almost complete.

The detectives of the Flying Squad are now convinced that the two young men accidentally fell during a walk. Barring any unexpected developments that emerge from the examination of Paolo Durzu's cell phone, the public prosecutor Mario Leo could soon close the file.

Tragic fatality

The couple's Tuesday morning had started like any other: they had coffee in the same bar where they had met the previous evening, then they had decided to spend the day together. Their passion for walking would have convinced them to take a trip beyond Cala Mosca, among the paths of Cala Fighera from where you can see breathtaking views.

A place that fascinates many hiking enthusiasts, but is considered extremely dangerous due to the risk of collapse of the rock face (so much so that the beach below is considered unsafe for swimmers during the summer due to falling rocks). One of those paths may have betrayed them. Their bodies were found a few meters from each other: Manola in the water, Paolo stuck between the rocks. Both suffered fatal injuries due to the violent impact with the rocks.

This morning, his mother posted a photo of the couple on Facebook: "My loves, I miss you so much. I love you more than my life, now you will be my angels," she wrote.
