Mamoiada: Motorcycle crash into truck, 18-year-old dead

Serious accident on Corso Vittorio Emanuele, in Mamoiada.

Lorenzo Sale, 18, who was travelling on a motorbike died after being   crashed into a van that was on the side of the road at the exit of the town, towards Orgosolo.

The accident happened yesterday morning.

The young man immediately appeared to be in very serious condition: the 118 operators activated resuscitation procedures on the street, which unfortunately proved useless.

The Carabinieri and firefighters also responded to the scene. The driver of the truck—who, contrary to initial reports, was moving and not parked— was subjected to a breathalyzer test, which returned a negative result.

The news of the death of young Lorenzo Sale deeply shook an entire community: "Fly high, Loré," wrote the Mamuthones and Issohadores-Atzeni association, "we will honor you by remembering you forever."
