More problems related to the elevators of Castello. The system known as “Unione Sarda alto”, that is the one that leads from the Terrapieno sports fields to Piazzetta Mundula, will be temporarily out of service tomorrow, Wednesday 23 October, from 8 to 14 for the execution of mandatory periodic ordinary maintenance, required by current regulations .
This intervention means that both elevators on Viale Regina Elena will remain closed, because the “Unione Sarda basso” system (at Bastione) is also currently out of order because it is being adapted to increase capacity . It will return to operation starting next October 28th.
But that's not all, because the elevator at the Santa Chiara market is also down: in recent days it was the victim of an act of vandalism that irreparably damaged the automatic doors of the system. The elevator will remain down until the necessary safety components have been completely replaced. The municipal administration has filed a complaint with the competent authorities and following investigations the perpetrators of the act of vandalism were identified thanks to the images recorded by the video surveillance system . The Municipality, through a note from the Strategic Works, Mobility, Road Infrastructure and Networks Service, assures that all interventions will be carried out with maximum speed to minimize inconvenience for users.
