A local pensioner, 77-year-old Anna Madeddu, was hospitalized overnight in Sassari hospital with serious burns to a large part of her body.
The woman was saved by firefighters during the night following a fire that broke out in the house, at number 5 via Raffaello in Macomer , not far from the parish of the Madonna Missionaria.
The firefighters and carabinieri of the Macomer company and the Borore station, coordinated by Captain Giovanni Maria Seu, are investigating to shed light on the fire, which broke out in the middle of the night when Anna Madeddu was sleeping.
Having intervened on the spot, the firefighters managed to enter the house on fire, managing to bring out the woman, who lives alone, now unconscious, with burns covering a large part of her body. A medical ambulance from Ghilarza 118 intervened immediately on the scene. The woman was admitted to the burns center of the Sassari hospital.
The cleanup operations continued until this morning.
