Macomer, a car crashes through a safety fence and falls 6 meters, leaving two seriously injured.

Perhaps due to a sudden illness, or possibly bad weather, a driver from Dualchi lost control of his car in Macomer. He crashed through a sturdy barrier and flew more than six meters into the parking lot below , near the railway.

Two seriously injured people, Davide Caddeo, 47, a well-known accordionist from Dualchi, and his nephew, Alberto Caddeo, 29 , were taken to Nuoro hospital. Their lives are not believed to be in danger. Two women who were in the same vehicle were also involved but did not suffer serious injuries. The accident occurred this morning around 5:00 a.m. on the central Via Sardegna. The driver was traveling along that stretch of road, in the center of town, possibly returning from a carnival celebration. Carabinieri from the Macomer company and emergency services from 118 responded to the scene.
