The man who killed Fabio Longoni and tried to do the same with Daniele Conigiu in November 2017 in Santa Lucia between Girasole and Villagrande Strisaili is Fabio Fois .

The 57-year-old farmer from Girasole had avenged with two shots the theft of two donkeys suffered by the victims a year before the crime , he had stationed himself along the road on which the two alleged thieves had passed by car and had fired. The Assize Court of Cagliari accepted the investigative reconstruction of the Lanusei Public Prosecutor's Office and imposed a life sentence on the accused, exactly the penalty requested by prosecutor Biagio Mazzeo.

At the end of the sentence the accused, alongside the defender Marcello Caddori, insisted on professing his innocence, as he had already done during the spontaneous declarations in the courtroom, and his lawyer announced the appeal .

In the same courtroom, a little farther on, the relatives of the victims hugged and cried, while the civil lawyers Marzia Graziano and Paolo and Bruno Pilia were close to them. The judges, recognizing the validity of the accusatory thesis, also paid the family members 240 thousand euros in provisional.
