After eight and a half years of waiting, the Loceri ring road opens. The artery is a strategic hub because it connects the Provincial Lanusei-San Paolo and the Orientale , between Tortolì and Bari Sardo. Today at 3 pm the company that carried out the work, Usai Luigi di Arzana, dismantled the last barriers and at the end of the laying of the signs along the route, the ordinance with which the Province of Nuoro authorized the opening to traffic.

"Although the certificate of regular execution has not yet been issued - states the provision signed by Mauro Foddis, the engineer in charge of the Infrastructure Service of the homogeneous area of Ogliastra - we intend to proceed with the opening of the ring road given the importance that the section of road covers for the surrounding villages as well as to speed up travel between Tortolì and Lanusei ».

It took more than eight years to defrost a procedure that had run aground after the last interventions on the construction site that date back to 31 December 2013. From that moment the process has slipped into a dead-end tunnel and only in recent years, with the the personal interest of the sub commissioner of the homogeneous zone of Ogliastra, Tonino Mereu, the turning point has come. Last October vehicles and workers entered the construction site and today, in compliance with the contractual deadlines, the ring road was able to accommodate the first cars.
