Four new judges arrive at the Lanusei Courthouse on the day two courtrooms are dedicated to figures who have made history in those circles: President Paola Murru and the dean of criminal lawyers, Ubaldo De Murtas.
The number of magistrates currently in service is now almost complete. One last position needs to be filled in the Court, a possibility next June, when a judge arriving from Tuscany will take up his post. Yesterday, Paola Massidda, from Oristano, Carlo Augusto Durante and Davide Quartu , from Cagliari, and Andrea Rambelli , from Bologna, took office. The new justice of the peace, Marco Caddeo , had already arrived in recent weeks. Nicoletta Serra, who had been in Lanusei for ten years and yesterday could not hold back tears of emotion at her farewell, and Giada Rutili, who are leaving the Ogliastra judicial offices, will be moving to Nuoro and Oristano, respectively.
Following the swearing-in of the new judges, the ceremonies naming the courtrooms after Paola Murru and Ubaldo De Murtas were deeply emotional. Their outstanding personalities were remembered in the presence of colleagues and family members by the current President of the Court , Nicola Caschili , and the President of the Bar Association, Vito Cofano. Civilian and military figures were present in court yesterday, including Chief Prosecutor Paola Del Monte and Deputy Prosecutor Giovanna Morra, honorary judges and prosecutors, commanders of the Carabinieri, the Police, the Guardia di Finanza, and the Forestry Corps. They were also attended by magistrates who had previously served in Lanusei.
