Giuseppina Deplano is the eldest of eleven children . Known to everyone as Annina, she raised nine sisters and her only brother. Yesterday, she turned 100, the grandmother born and raised in Lanusei to ancestors originally from Ussassai .
During the afternoon buffet, complete with a huge cake , her two children and two grandchildren celebrated, as well as several other family members and friends who did not want to miss the day in which grandmother Annina joined the centenarians' club which, in Ogliastra, has several dozen members residing in almost all the towns in the area.
An intimate celebration, punctuated by emotion and much love. Widowed for thirty-three years (her husband, Antonio Stocchino, died in 1993 at the age of 70) and a woman of deep religious faith, the newly centenarian lives with her daughter in a family building. She has always cared for her family, sharing her time with the daily chores of working in the farmland two kilometers from town.
