Sensational protest this morning in La Maddalena. A woman, from a beach resort in Caprera, chained herself to the door handle of the town hall to protest against the lack of authorization to reopen the business. This is not an isolated problem, because there are about ten kiosks out of a total of twenty without authorization to reopen.
A complex, unfortunate and damaging situation for both business owners and employees as well as tourists who cannot use the bar, restaurant and toilet services offered by kiosks on the beaches and pine forests of the two largest islands of the archipelago. And the time to resolve the problem, considering that we are on June 10, does not seem very short .
It all started from the need to adapt the kiosk structures to current regulations, which require, among other things, the presence of two bathrooms for those that provide table service to the public . It was necessary for the Municipality to prepare and send to the Region (late according to some, within the possible timeframes - given the complexity of the practice - according to the Municipal Administration), the Vinca (Environmental Impact Assessment) which was approved again only a few days ago, on June 6.
At this point the business owners have been able and can submit the requests, which will have to be examined each in a conference of services, between the Municipality of La Maddalena and the Superintendency of Sassari. The time allowed by law is 30 days but the Municipal Administration, as far as it is competent, has committed to speeding them up as much as possible while this morning the mayor Fabio Lai urged the Superintendency to do the same.
