A month after his premature death, the Judo sport Abbasanta company wanted to remember Gabriele Pinna, the young judoka from Ghilarza who died of fulminant meningitis at the age of 18. The emotion was palpable among all those present last Saturday, when a large portrait measuring four by three metres was discovered in the Abbasanta sports hall, depicting a technical gesture of the athlete during a competition .
From now on, the portrait of the unfortunate judoka will always be present in the sports facility, as a testimony to the deep pain that his death has caused everyone: " Ciao Gabriele - is the writing - your life was a precious gift, your memory a light that illuminates our path" .
Attending the simple but touching ceremony were his parents Raffaele and Rosalba, his brother Nicolas, and many of his sports and study companions from the Mariano IV High School in Ghilarza. All were moved, especially when, to the sound of Giampiero Ena 's saxophone, master Paolo Scanu and some judokas, including Erika , the deceased's girlfriend, performed some martial arts gestures.
The photo of Gabriele Pinna's portrait was taken by Gianluca Laconi from Norbello who also curated the artistic direction of the event. Likewise, many people took part in the thirtieth mass in the parish of Ghilarza on Sunday.
