The Municipality of Sinnai and the MuA - Sinnai Museum and Archive are pleased to announce the opening of the exhibition “At school: education in Sinnai in archive documents” , an exhibition that traces the school history of the area through unpublished documents and period materials. The initiative, curated by Sardinia to do, will be inaugurated on Saturday 1 March at 6 pm and will be open until 30 March at the Sinnai municipal historical archive, in the exhibition room on the ground floor.

The exhibition represents an important opportunity to learn about the evolution of education in the Sinnai area, drawing on vast archival documentation covering the period 1859-1969 . The exhibition is in continuity with a first temporary exhibition held in 2023, broadening the investigation to the decades between 1910 and 1970 .

The exhibition itinerary winds through 449 files kept in category IX Public Education , which collect documents regarding school management, the relationships between the Municipality and the school authorities, the appointment and management of teaching staff, school programs, educational reports, student lists, final exams and report cards. Particularly interesting are the documents relating to health and hygiene conditions in schools and those regarding municipal policies regarding rents, purchase of land and construction of school buildings.

To complement the documentary narrative, the exhibition also presents a selection of testimonies, images and historical objects from private collections and loans from individual citizens, helping to outline a vivid and authentic picture of the scholastic reality of Sinnai in the past.

The initiative is funded by Sardinia to do , the management body of the MuA - Sinnai Museum and Archive, and is aimed at students, researchers, local history enthusiasts and all citizens. Admission is free.
